Siphon Vase / 2024
Donghwan Song
Siphon vase integrates a controlled siphon mechanism that renews the water level without disturbing the arrangement. When the water reaches its defined threshold, an internal channel activates a smooth siphon flow, releasing the old water and creating space for a fresh refill in one uninterrupted gesture. The form is designed to preserve the integrity of the composition—eliminating the need to lift, adjust, or reorganize stems. By embedding a fundamental fluid principle within a minimal, monolithic structure, the object delivers a quiet, intuitive maintenance experience that aligns with contemporary living. This vase investigates how essential physics can elevate routine care into a refined interaction, emphasizing clarity, efficiency, and a subtle sense of precision within everyday objects.
