Donghwan Song
송동환
Donghwan Song is a Seoul-based industrial designer operating at the intersection of emerging robotics, advanced CMF, and human-centric physical form.
After graduating in Product Design from Hongik University in 2020, Donghwan built a solid technical and design foundation across leading Korean studios including BKID, DESIGN METHODS, and FOUNTAIN STUDIO. Working with clients ranging from agile startups to global leaders like Samsung Electronics, he developed production-grade solutions across smart appliances, wearables, and personal electronics.
Bridging structural discipline with material curiosity, he expanded his practice into furniture and spatial objects. Through rigorous hands-on prototyping across metal, engineering polymers, and technical textiles, he established a nuanced expertise in compliant mechanisms, precision detailing, and CMF. His work has been exhibited internationally at Milan Design Week, Dutch Design Week, and the Vitra Design Museum.
In 2023, he earned his Master’s in Product Design with honors (Mention Bien) from ECAL in Switzerland. He is currently an Industrial Designer at Samsung Electronics in the Robotics eXperience Business Office (RX), where he shapes future robotic systems and embodied hardware. By uniting mechanical logic with refined tactile aesthetics, he creates physical AI products that integrate seamlessly into human environments.
